Insurance Preferred Locks
Many insurance companies want you to have certain locks on your doors, heres what to look for on a BS3621 Lock.

Most insurers when you take out or renew home insurance will want you to have BS3621 locks on your wooden doors. These are 5 Lever British Standard mortice locks either deadlocks or sashlocks so what are they ? Commonly known as chubb locks you can tell if yours is BS3621 by opening yur door and having a look at the face plate of the lock like pictured. If the face plate has a British Standard kite mark on it (looks similar to a heart shape) and says 5 levers BS3621 then your lock will be what the insurer wants you to have on your door. If it doesnt they we suggest that you replace it with one that does.
